👨🏼‍💻 Work experience

Product Lead

Raflin*, Byron/Sydney (remote) – (Aug 22 — Current)*

An FMCG platform and merchant marketing tool, with a winning twist.

Responsibilities: As second hire I was brought on to see the product from 0-1. The process to MVP was executed via loose double diamonds encompassing sprints, iterations and user testing. As second hire I wore many hats with with my role being everything from; developing the brand iD, creating a robust design system, working with founders on product principles and constant iteration catalysed by user feedback.

The design challenge was one of education. A new purchasing experience is a hand holding process incorporating new and old ideas, streamlining for the best user experience and optimised conversion. We needed to be acutely cognisant of UX laws such as Jakob's Law to ensure the experience was familiar enough whilst incorporating the essential features of the Raflin product.

Risk decomposition and laser focus on priorities. Question own assumptions.

Senior Product Designer

Algopulse*, Brisbane (remote) – (Jan 22 — Aug 22)*

Senior Product Designer across all touch-points of a varying suite of Web3 projects.

Responsibilities: Questioning, designing and refining. My core role was product design, crafting streamlined solutions to complex scenarios. We had many projects running concurrently, each with their unique needs and market fit. We built from the ground up with founders to ensure each project was designed for growth and had trust at its core. Constant learning and adaptation was a daily process to keep up with the bourgeoning technology.

Simply put, I wore many hats daily. Each product was grounded in my approach to product design, “make moments that matter” which encompasses a human centred design approach with a few tweaks for scale (or lack of in some circumstances). Utilising my experience in UI, UX and brand strategy we could quickly help founders realise there loose ideas and turn them into tight products via design sprints, feed back and a double diamond approach to building products.
